Jazmin Mendoza
I am Jazmin, passionate about helping individuals, children, families, and young mothers who are working through postpartum depression/anxiety, and intimate partner relationships to develop skills that will enhance your peace and joy. I most often use a human-centered approach to assist you in embracing your coping skills, managing your conflict, and building your confidence to live your optimal life. I am professionally trained in Trauma-Based Relational Interventions (TBRI). The principles of TBRI focus on correcting unhealthy behaviors, connecting relationally, and empowering you to live your best life. I have further specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). This evidence-based treatment assists individuals, children, adolescents, young mothers, and intimate partner relationships in recognizing and communicating thoughts and feelings and understanding how they affect actions and life outcomes.
My journey in mental health counseling and caregiving began in 2019 when I graduated with a bachelor's degree in social work from Chadron State College, following an internship at the Black Hills Children's Society. In 2022, I completed my graduate degree in Social Work at the University of South Dakota.
When I am not assisting others in my career, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter, and three fur babies, being outdoors, traveling to new places, and reading a good book. I value healthy self-care to be the best I can be mentally and physically so I can be there to support the BEST YOU!
