Medication Management

Rising Hope has something unique to offer! It is thought that both your biology and stress levels can contribute to the development of brain illness symptoms. Brain illnesses potentially cause an imbalance of chemicals in the cells of your brain. Medications and coping strategies can help reduce your biological predisposition and treat your symptoms. These can be a bridge in your journey to help you stabilize and an excellent tool to balance your life.

At Rising Hope, we have the honor to collaborate with our Certified Nurse Practitioner and therapists so you have the opportunity for the best care for your brain. Your therapist and CNP will work together to create a healing environment of feeling safe, being heard, and most importantly, understood.

Speak with your therapist about adding medication management to your treatment or call 494.1500 to set up an appointment.

Medication Providers at Rising Hope will not prescribe medical marijuana, nor will providers at Rising Hope assist any client in obtaining a medical marijuana card.  To date, medical marijuana has been legalized in South Dakota for non-psychiatric illnesses only (SDCL 34-20G-1), and research thus far has not found any consistent treatment value for psychiatric illnesses and indeed has shown numerous contra-indications for those suffering from mental illness.

Medication Providers at Rising Hope will not prescribe daily benzodiazepine prescriptions or write new benzodiazepine prescriptions. Patients seeking medication management will either need to have their current provider continue prescribing this medication or will need to agree to a deprescribing schedule.
