Andrea Walcott

I am a west Michigan native who lived there my whole life until transplanting to South Dakota in the fall of 2022!

I am a CSW-PIP and QMHP with an undergraduate degree in psychology from Grand Valley State University (Allendale, MI) and a master’s in social work from Western Michigan University (Grand Rapids, MI). I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

My experience in private practice, schools, non-profit, and community mental health settings have allowed me to increase my knowledge and understanding of how to best serve clients. I have been fortunate enough to come alongside children, adolescents, and adults, and help them through a variety of difficulties ranging from depression and anxiety to experiences with trauma, and more.

It is my philosophy that we are each our own best healer. I believe that my clients are the experts of their own lives, and that as their therapist, it is my role to guide and support.

In my free time, it is important to me that I take care of myself in order to show up as the best human I can in all areas of life. I enjoy reading (self-help/personal development), doing yoga, being in nature, working out, playing any type of game, meditating, and spending time with my husband and fur babies."
