I grew up in Gillette, Wyoming and moved to Aberdeen, South Dakota in 2010 to attend PresentationCollege. I quickly discovered that a Psychology degree would allow me to join a career that would embody my passion for helping people. I finished my bachelor’s degree in 2014 and pursued my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern State University, graduating in2019.Following graduation, I began working in community mental health and became credentialed as aLicensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) in the state ofSouth Dakota. My clinical experience has allowed me to work with adolescents and adults dealing with depression, anxiety, anger management, personality disorders, grief, trauma, relationship issues, and more. I find it important to stay current with research and develop plans that are individualized for each client, particularly focusing on the theoretical approaches of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT).I’ve always believed that with guidance and motivation, we are all capable of reaching our goals and living a life we truly enjoy. I have found that a strong support system from family, friends, and the community can contribute to a positive move towards growth and healing. My goal is to help my clients feel that they are not alone and will benefit from reaching out for help.In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, our three pets, and our very close friends. We enjoy spending time together and creating new memories. In addition to that, I enjoy playing golf, focusing on my own mental and physical health, traveling, and trying new foods.
