Bailey Metzger

I was raised in a small, close-knit town in South Dakota. I attended South Dakota State University where I received my bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies in 2018. I then continued my educational journey and received my master's degree in Clinical Mental Health in 2020. I moved to Rapid City in 2020 to begin utilizing my degree and serving the community. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and awaiting approval to become a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). I have experience working with individuals and their families throughout the lifespan. However, working with children and adolescents is a passion of mine that has continued to grow through experience and trainings. I have worked with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, poor self-esteem, separation anxiety, and others. My theoretical approach mainly lies within Person Centered or Child Centered Play Therapy, as well as other Play Therapy techniques and skills. I believe in integrating techniques and tools to best fit the client and their needs. I feel this is best executed while providing a genuine and supportive environment to assist them in reaching sustainable progress towards their identified goals.

In my free time you can find me enjoying the many activities the Black Hills have to offer. I also enjoy a relaxing night at home spent with my young daughter, husband, and golden doodle.
