As a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), I bring over 13 years of experience in guiding adolescents and adults through the intricate journey of overcoming addiction and addressing mental health concerns. I've worked in a variety of settings including adolescent residential treatment for chemical dependency, school based counseling in the Sioux Falls School District, and outpatient individual and group therapy at a community mental health agency.
My educational background, a Master's Degree in Social Work as well as Addiction Studies, has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to offer an effective, person-centered and strengths based approach to therapy. This approach ensures that each individual's unique story and needs are at the heart of our therapeutic journey together. At the core of my practice, I believe in building a partnership based on trust, empathy, and understanding. Whether you're battling addiction, grappling with mental health issues, or just seeking a guiding hand through life's challenges, I am here to walk alongside you, because sometimes life sucks and we need a little help.
When I'm not at work, most of my time is filled with raising my two boys into good men. They are active in athletics but their passion is hockey, so it has become my passion to be the best hockey mom I can be. I try to lead by example and take my own advice, so self care is a priority in my house. For me, that includes training for half marathons, being outdoors whenever possible, spending time with my dog Rocky, and meeting with my friends for book club.
Let's start this transformative journey together.
