I truly believe that everyone is deserving of accessible and affordable mental healthcare. Growing up in rural South Dakota, I experienced firsthand just how difficult it can be to access mental health care. My goal is to create a space that is welcoming and safe for anyone who walks through the door.
I graduated with my Bachelor and Master of Social Work Degree through the University of South Dakota. Prior to working in a clinical setting, I worked as a case manager for individuals with severe mental illness and as a victims advocate for individuals experiencing intimate partner violence. Working alongside these individuals has given me insight and the ability to work through different areas including trauma, abuse, anxiety, conflict management, life skills, depression, etc. I approach therapy through a person centered, strength-based approach and I am certified in motivational interviewing. I am here to meet you where you are and to walk alongside you as you explore therapy. I truly value the growth and healing that can happen in a therapy setting and hope to watch you grow into the person you desire to become. Healing isn't always linear, it takes time, and taking the first step with therapy is incredibly brave. More about me: Outside of work I like to spend my time with my husband, our two cats Sparrow and Autumn, and our dog Pippin. I enjoy painting, music, spending time outdoors, and watching my favorite comfort movies. We love our Vermillion community and value the people that make our town what it is.
