Hello!
I was born and raised in Rock Rapids, IA. I moved away for a short period of time to attend college but found myself coming back to the area upon graduating and have been here since. My personal experiences have influenced my passion for working in the mental health field. I have been in the mental health field in some capacity since 2012 and have never looked back.
I obtained my bachelor's degree in Sociology and minor in Human Development and Family Studies from South Dakota State University in 2012. I entered the workforce for several years before pursuing my graduate degree. I obtained my Masters of Social Work in 2019. I completed coursework to obtain a licensure in addiction counseling in 2021. I am licensed as a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Privateand/or Independent Practice (CSW-PIP), Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), and have a certificate as a Qualified Mental Health Provider (QMHP) within the state of South Dakota. I am licensed as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) in Iowa.
I have experience in providing mental health therapy in outpatient, school-based, home-based, and telehealth settings. I have worked in community mental health and within a telemedicine care provider network. The therapeutic approaches I commonly use, but are not limited to, are person-centered, strengths based, systems theory, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, and other evidence-based practices. I have experience in the following areas:

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our daughter, reading, being apart of a bookclub, watching anything and everything on Netflix and Hulu, and spending time with friends and family. My goal is to provide you with a safe and comfortable space while walking along side you throughout your healing journey. I cannot wait to work with you!
