Elizabeth Cope

I am a Mitchell, SD native who was born here, graduated from Mitchell High School here (Go Kernels) and attended Dakota Wesleyan University (Go Tigers). I married my husband in August 2013 and moved just 11 miles North to the family farm where we now live with our 2 children.

I am a CSW with an undergraduate degree in Human Services, minor in Allied Health from Dakota Wesleyan University (Mitchell, SD), a master's in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University (Manchester, NH), and a master's in social work from Walden University (Minneapolis, MN). I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).

My history in providing services in non-profit and psychiatric residential settings has provided many experiences that allowed for utilization and development of a large personal "tool kit" of skills ranging from de-escalation techniques, treatment team planning, to working with families of youth.

Psychiatric residential settings have led me to working with clients who have varying diagnosis often times with co-occurring disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and Trauma to name a few. I have 10+ years' experience working with youth and adolescents and find this period of development in one's life crucial to navigating success as an adult.

As your therapist, I will guide you in developing goals that fit your needs and support your work in succeeding those goals. Along the way, I may challenge your thinking by providing a different perspective on the situations that brought you to my office seeking help.
