"Your present circumstances don't determine where you go; they merely determine where you start." - Nido Qubein

I was born and raised in South Dakota and I am proud to also raise my family here. I have enjoyed helping people from a young age and feel blessed with the opportunity to support others through mental health challenges. I received my Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Sociology from South Dakota State University and my Master's of Social Work degree from the University of South Dakota. I am also a Certified Social Worker, Qualified Mental Health Professional and I am working toward my PIP license. For the past 8 years I have been working at a community mental health center in rural South Dakota and before that have enjoyed supporting youth and families in many different ways through therapy and social work supports.

My primary experience is with youth ages 3 to 22 and adults in a family and parenting framework. I have experience working with clients in the following areas: depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, suicidal ideation, PTSD/trauma, behavioral concerns, ODD, ADHD, relationship conflicts, grief/loss, and more. I utilize several theoretical approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, strengths-based approach, family systems, and many others.

My personal time involves reading books, watching sports, and spending time with my children especially outdoors. I am passionate and excited about making mental health support available to everyone, especially in rural South Dakota. I look forward to meeting every client that chooses me to support them through their challenges and accomplishments.
